The number of UK employers seeking to recruit permanent staff continues to rise, according to the latest JobsOutlook report by the Recruitment & Employment Confederation (REC).
The December report, based on a survey of more than 600 employers carried out in November, shows that 86% plan to take on permanent staff in the coming three months, up 2% on November’s report and up 6% on October.
However, based on Office for National Statistics data, vacancies may be hard to fill because of a low unemployment rate, says the REC.
It highlights technical/engineering, professional/managerial, driving/distribution and construction as especially hard-to-find skills.
