You could ask five people what the current minimum wage rate is and get five different answers – and they could all be right! Whilst most of us can quote one figure, not too many can quote all five applicable rates. And to make matters worse, it’s all changing on the 1st April 2017.
To help you understand the new minimum wage rates, Allstaff has created an infographic with the key information that you need to identify the relevant minimum wage rates for your employees, we hope it is a useful reference guide.
The infographic also includes a reminder of things to come, highlighting the government’s target to raise the National Living Wage from its current level of £7.20 per hour to £9 by 2020.
The national minimum wage was previously uprated every year in October, but this year the new rates will come into force from 1st April, the national living wage will be uprated at the same time.
If you are unsure what rate you should be paying, please give us a call on 0141 887 1137 or 0141 221 3923, or email us, we will be happy to advise you on the current and new rates.
