Yard / Forklift Operative

Allstaff manufacturing & warehouse division are seeking a dedicated and hardworking Yard Worker to join our client in Blantyre. The successful candidate will play a vital role in maintaining the yard and using the forklift. Hours of work are Monday to Thursday 7:30am – 4pm and Friday 7:30am – 3pm.

Duties include but are not limited to:

• Load and unload materials from lorries and delivery vehicles using a counterbalance or reach forklift
• Operate forklifts and other equipment safely to move materials within the yard.
• Assist in shipping and receiving processes, verifying incoming and outgoing shipments against documentation.
• Conduct regular inspections of equipment, performing basic repairs as necessary to ensure optimal functionality.
• Maintain an organised yard by keeping materials sorted and stored appropriately.
• Handle materials with care, following all safety guidelines to prevent accidents or injuries.
• Collaborate with team members to complete tasks efficiently and effectively.

Skills

• Experience in a warehouse environment is preferred, with knowledge of warehouse management systems being advantageous.
• Full drivers licence
• Valid forklift licence
• Strong materials handling skills, ensuring that all items are moved safely within the yard environment.
