Allstaff Manufacturing division currently recruiting for a Production Manager to run our client’s production facility in Wishaw.
Our client manufacture high performance bespoke timber based doorsets, screens and other related components to the UK construction industry.
They are looking for an experienced Production Manager to build and lead the team to achieve set targets & company objectives taking the business to the next level.
You will be an experienced production manager, with a proven track record of leading people and meeting production targets. You will be hands-on and will lead by example. An obsession with quality is essential given the industry sectors supplied to.
Overall lead for day-to-day manufacturing operations
o Capacity planning and optimisation
o Planning and organising production schedules
o Managing resource requirements for each contract
o End-to-end manufacturing process optimisation
o Reporting on Key Performance Indicators
o Organising the repair and routine maintenance of production equipment
o Management Reporting
Leading and managing the production team (20-25 personnel)
o Daily staff briefings
o Manpower planning and utilisation (task allocation, managing shifts, holidays etc)
o Performance management of team members incl. regular reviews and coaching
o Develop and maintain staff maintenance of production equipment
o Develop and manage quality assurance systems from supplier to customer
Health & Safety
o H&S lead within the manufacturing plant
Key Qualifications, Attributes and Skills
Ambitious and self motivated – essential
Small team management experience – essential
Practical leadership experience – essential
Strong IT skills with good working knowledge of Excel
Experience of managing production schedules and quality systems – essential
Practical experience of optimising work procedures using LEAN techniques – desirable
Ability to communicate effectively, both in writing and verbally – essential
Health & Safety management experience – essential
Knowledge of ISO9001, 14001 and OHSAS 18001 – desirable
Knowledge of Chain of Custody requirements for FSC and PEFC – desirable
Experience within the timber trade – desirable
