1. SCOPE

This policy applies to all employees, workers, agency workers, contractors and any other individuals working for or on behalf of the organisation, including within our supply chains.

2. RESPONSIBILITY

  • Managing Director has overall responsibility for this Human Rights Policy.
  • Director / Manager has responsibility for the development, implementation and review of the policy and associated procedures.
  • Director / Manager is responsible for communicating this policy internally and externally and ensuring appropriate training is provided.
  • Managers are responsible for applying this policy fairly and consistently in day-to-day operations.

3. DEFINITION

Human rights are the basic rights and freedoms that belong to all people. In the context of our business, this means treating individuals lawfully, fairly and with dignity, and ensuring they are free from exploitation, forced labour, discrimination, unsafe working conditions and other forms of harm.

Our approach is informed by internationally recognised human rights principles and UK employment and labour law and is applied in a proportionate and practical way.

4. POLICY STATEMENT

Paisley Secretarial Services Ltd T/A Allstaff is committed to respecting and upholding internationally recognised human rights in our operations and supply chains.

We recognise our responsibility to prevent, identify and address risks of human rights harm connected to our activities, including risks of exploitation, forced labour, trafficking, discrimination, and unsafe or unfair working conditions.

This policy supports our commitment to lawful, ethical and responsible labour practices.

5. OUR APPROACH TO HUMAN RIGHTS

We are committed to:

  • Respecting the dignity, freedom and rights of all individuals.
  • Complying with all applicable UK employment, equality and labour laws.
  • Supporting fair, safe and ethical working conditions.
  • Taking proportionate and lawful steps to prevent and address human rights risks.
  • Working with suppliers and partners to promote responsible labour practices.


6. KEY HUMAN RIGHTS COMMITMENTS

Forced Labour and Modern Slavery
We will not tolerate forced labour, bonded labour, involuntary prison labour, or human trafficking in any form. Workers must be free to leave employment subject to lawful notice and must not be required to pay recruitment or placement fees.

Fair Pay and Working Conditions
We are committed to ensuring that workers are:

  • Paid at least the National Minimum Wage or National Living Wage as applicable.
  • Paid accurately and on time.
  • Provided with lawful working hours, rest breaks and holiday entitlements.


Freedom of Movement and Identity Documents
We will not withhold identity documents, passports or personal belongings, nor restrict a worker’s freedom of movement unlawfully.

Health, Safety and Wellbeing
We are committed to providing a safe and healthy working environment and to managing health and safety risks appropriately.

Equality, Dignity and Respect
We will treat all individuals with dignity and respect and will not tolerate bullying, harassment, victimisation or unlawful discrimination. We are committed to equality of opportunity and fair treatment in line with our Equality, Diversity and Inclusion Policy.

Freedom of Association
We respect the right of workers to join or not join a trade union and to engage in lawful collective representation.

Recruitment and Employment Practices
We are committed to responsible recruitment practices, including clear and honest information about work and terms, lawful right-to-work checks, and transparent contracts and assignment details.

Supply Chain Responsibility
We expect suppliers and business partners to share our commitment to human rights and to operate lawfully and ethically. Where risks are identified, we will take proportionate steps to prevent or address harm.

7. REPORTING CONCERNS AND REMEDIATION

Any individual who believes their human rights, or the rights of others, may have been breached should report this immediately to their line manager. If this is not appropriate, concerns should be reported to Senior Management. All reports will be taken seriously, investigated promptly, and handled fairly and confidentially.

8. TRAINING AND AWARENESS

We will provide appropriate training and information to ensure workers and managers understand this Human Rights Policy, their responsibilities under it, and how to recognise and report concerns.

9. MONITORING AND REVIEW

This policy will be reviewed annually, and at any other time where required due to changes in law, business activities or identified risks.

10. ACCOUNTABILITY AND VERSION CONTROL
