Allstaff Finance & Accountancy Division are delighted to bring to the market the role of Assistant Accountant.

Role Location

Glasgow

Salary & Hours

Salary: £35,000 per annum
Working hours: 8am–4.30pm Monday–Friday (fully office based)

Our client is a well-established and highly respected business operating within the food manufacturing sector, with a strong presence across the UK and Europe. The Site

Based in Glasgow, this busy and fast-paced manufacturing site plays a key role within the wider operation, supporting high-volume retail production and employing a large workforce locally.

Role Purpose

To support the Finance team in the efficient and effective processing of weekly and monthly financial accounts and product costings. Reporting to the Financial Controller.

Key Responsibilities

  • Supporting the financial accountant with the production of monthly financial accounts.
  • Assist the management accountant with the production of weekly management accounts.
  • Assist with new product costings and maintaining existing costings.
  • Managing the site GRNI accruals.
  • Reconcile inter-company account and associated journals.
  • Prepare and distribute weekly KPI reports.
  • Providing data and reports relating to factory performance, eg labour utilisation, yield performance.
  • Prepare and distribute WIM data for retail management meetings, attend meetings as required.
  • Holiday cover for other members of the accounts team (AP and AR).
  • Attend meetings when required by the manager.
  • To liaise and communicate with colleagues and departments.
  • Complete all on-the-job training.
  • Carry out any other reasonable duties as required.

Skills

  • Previous administration experience is essential, previous Finance experience desirable.
  • Previous manufacturing experience would be beneficial but is not essential.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Competent in using Microsoft programs, particularly Excel.
  • Strong planning and organisational skills, demonstrating flexibility towards changing business demands.
  • Proactive, dynamic and motivational with the ability to deliver results in a fast paced, pressurised environment.
