Finance Assistant

Allstaff Finance & Accountancy Division are delighted to bring to the market the role of Finance Assistant.

We are seeking a Finance Assistant to support the Financial Controller and the wider accounts team at a Glasgow manufacturing site.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to develop their career within a busy and varied finance environment, working across multiple group companies.

As part of a small finance team, the role will involve a mixture of finance, administrative and general office support duties.

Location: Glasgow
Hours of work: Monday to Thursday 08:15 – 16:45 (30 minute lunch break), Friday 08:15 – 12:15
Role type: Full time, temporary to permanent

Main duties will include:

1. Purchase ledger processing
2. Sales ledger support and credit control
3. Bank reconciliations
4. Assisting with supplier payments
5. Supporting month-end processes
6. Handling customer and supplier queries
7. Assisting with intercompany transactions
8. Filing and maintaining finance records
9. Answering telephone calls and assisting with general office administration
10. Providing support to the wider office team when required

Experience / Skills:

1. Previous accounts or finance experience preferred
2. Minimum 24 months’ relevant finance/accounts experience preferred
3. Experience using Excel essential
4. Experience with Microsoft Dynamics Business Central advantageous
5. Good attention to detail
6. Organised and able to manage multiple tasks
7. Strong communication skills
8. Positive attitude and willingness to learn

Salary: £14.42 – £16.03 per hour depending on experience
