Allstaff Manufacturing Division are delighted to bring to the market the role of Hygiene Manager for a well established family owned business based in Glasgow. The role is permanent on a full time basis i.e. 40 hours Monday to Friday with occasional weekends.

Role Purpose

As part of its ongoing growth, the company is looking for a competent and proactive Hygiene Manager to take full ownership of the hygiene function and lead continuous improvement across the production site. This is a pivotal role for an individual passionate about high standards, eager to make a measurable impact, and motivated to shape and maintain hygiene excellence in a thriving manufacturing environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Leading and managing the Hygiene Team, including scheduling, performance management and training
  • Overseeing all hygiene schedules and cleaning procedures, supported by regular audits
  • Coordinating and executing deep-cleaning activities, including full equipment strip-downs
  • Supporting the Technical Manager with pest control and audit readiness
  • Conducting shift inspections to monitor safety and hygiene standards
  • Achieving technical targets for microbiological trends, HACCP and equipment release
  • Liaising with chemical suppliers to maintain hygiene audit systems
  • Investigating microbiological issues and applying root cause analysis and corrective actions
  • Maintaining documentation in line with BRC Global Food Safety Standard Issue 9
  • Continuously improving the Hygiene QMS
  • Managing the prevention of build-up and contamination on equipment
  • Keeping accurate records of hygiene and maintenance tasks as well as relevant training records
  • Adhering to all health & safety and food hygiene standards

Candidate Profile:

  • A strong communicator with the ability to lead a team effectively
  • Proactive and solutions-focused, with a hands-on approach to problem solving
  • Adaptable and resilient, with a positive attitude toward change and improvement
  • Comfortable working under pressure and to tight deadlines

Experience Required:

  • 24–36 months of experience in a similar hygiene or cleaning management role
  • Previous experience within an FMCG or production site environment
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and MS Office
  • Experience managing cleaning schedules, training records and supporting audits
  • Demonstrated ability to manage a team of 3 supervisors and approximately 20 staff
  • Comfortable working primarily onsite, with a strong presence on the production floor

Details

  • Hours: 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday, with occasional weekend work
  • Contract: Permanent
  • Salary: £40,000 – £45,000 depending on experience
