Allstaff Office Division are delighted to bring to the market the role of Sustainability Officer based near Johnstone.

 

Candidates should be ideally educated to Bachelor degree level in Environmental Science, Environmental Management or a similar discipline. ,alternatively, experience in an environmentally focused role. Extensive experience in data and compliance-driven activity, ideally with direct experience of Energy, IPPC and/or Carbon reporting regimes is required.

 

Role Purpose

Reporting to the Head of Sustainability and Innovation, the Sustainability Officer will be responsible for provision of company-wide environmental compliance data to support carbon reporting (SRS), compliance data for IPPC/EASR licences, metrics to support ISO standards and internal reporting of KPI. This will be based on overseeing initiatives, validating environmental data provided by external agencies and direct report staff, drafting statutory reports and providing recommendations that add value for both the business and the customer; whilst ensuring through diligent application to operating conditions and ongoing initiatives that environmental, societal and economic impacts are quantified, verified and visible and at the forefront of data-driven decision-making.

 

The principal purpose of the role is ensuring the business retains and advances its environmental compliance underpinning its sustainability credentials through provision of accurate data and delivering on ambitious zero targets, including net zero and zero waste to landfill.

 

Key Accountabilities

  • Ensure the Group maintains highest standards of data-driven compliance to Integrated Pollution Prevention and Control (IPPC-EASR), Integrated Management System (IMS) by day-to-day management of licensed requirements and ISO Energy & Environmental Management Systems (14001, 50001), SBTi, CCA/ESOS and other carbon and Producer Responsibility reporting obligations including the forthcoming SRS.
  • Physically audit and verify the integrity of operations and supply chains to meet internationally accepted ethical and environmental standards.
  • Ensure sustainability credentials are maintained and provide data to underpin proactive internal and external campaigns to challenge the status quo in all aspects of the sustainability agenda and identify improvements.
  • Clearly communicate internally to gather data and inspire the wider business at operational level on sustainable development principles, particularly environmental management.
  • Implement environmental objectives, policies and principles across the company through data measurement and project delivery.
  • Analyse and evaluate environmental results and compliance to support development of practical implementation solutions.
  • Evaluate, verify and report data for statutory purposes relating to Environmental Compliance and Sustainability.
  • Proactively anticipate environmental trends through legislative observance and identify opportunities to mitigate business risks.
  • Contribute to and draft content for the Annual Group ESG Report for shareholders and stakeholders, including provision of environmental data auditable to ISO 14016.

 

Key Skills, Experience and Qualifications

  • Experience liaising with SEPA and other regulatory bodies would be advantageous.
  • Professional registration or working towards Chartered status would be advantageous.
  • Minimum 12 months’ relevant experience preferred.
